9 Things To See, Do & Eat While You're There

It’s time to start thinking about the 2018 Presidents Club, an exclusive group of innovative dealers addressing the toughest challenges in the industry! Presidents Club 2018 will be held at the Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, FL, from May 6 to 7 in 2018.

List Of Fun Things To Do In Fort Lauderdale Florida

Here are 9 attractions and sights to check out while you’re there:

1. Las Olas Food Tour

With diverse restaurants, museums, international art galleries, and 65 retail options, the Las Olas Boulevard is the perfect place to take a stroll. Soak in the Floridian atmosphere and the aesthetic of the boulevard, take a chance on the shops and the alfresco dining options, or go on a Las Olas Food Tour.

2. Bonnet House Museum and Gardens

For those with more historic inclinations, there’s the Bonnet House Museum and Gardens. The house was created in 1920 by Frederic Clay Bartlett, a Chicago-born artist, on land gifted to him and his second wife Helen Louise Birch. In 1925, Helen died from breast cancer, and six years later Bartlett married Evelyn Fortune Lilly, who spent the winters in the house until 1995. Now it’s a house museum dedicated to historic environmental preservation. There is something for everyone here: art lovers, horticulture enthusiasts, animal lovers, and history buffs alike.

3. The Beaches

Fort Lauderdale boasts 23 miles of beautiful, sun-kissed beaches - many of which have been certified as Blue Wave Beaches by the Clean Beaches Council of Washington DC. Pompano Beach, named after a saltwater fish, has some of the warmest and clearest waters in South Florida and offers a variety of beach sports. Check out Lauderdale-By-The-Sea for a natural coral reef system and snorkeling, or visit Dania Beach Ocean Park for a meal and gorgeous ocean views on a beautiful fishing pier.

4. Segway Tour

Try something new and take a 45 minute Segway tour around Fort Lauderdale, maneuvering down the Riverwalk by the yachts and shipyards. There are several options to choose: longer tours, a night tour, and even a nature tour.

5. Jungle Queen Riverboat

If Segways aren’t quite your speed, you can take a cruise on the famous Jungle Queen riverboat. On the river since 1935, the Jungle Queen is a “must-do” in Fort Lauderdale. Choose between a sightseeing cruise in the morning, afternoon, or evening, the Dinner Show and Sightseeing Cruise, and the Afternoon Sightseeing Cruise and Tropical Isle Tour.

6. Tour the Everglades

And, of course, what is a trip to Florida without seeing the Everglades? Everglades Airboat Tours and Alligator Park offers an expert-narrated airboat tour around the Everglades to see some of Florida’s most interesting wildlife. At the end of the tour, settle in for a gator show filled with stunts and alligator facts put on by the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue.

7. Eat at Coconuts Restaurant

Coconuts has “outstanding water views, tantalizing seafood and comfort food dishes, delicious cocktails and excellent service” - it’s highly rated, highly raved about, and situated close to both the Swimming Hall of Fame and Ft. Lauderdale Beach. You’re sure to find something for everyone on their compact yet well-stacked menu, with a variety of seafood, jambalaya, and Danish Bayback Barbecued Ribs.

8. Cocktails at Bar Red Beard

Meanwhile, Bar Red Beard offers a hearty selection of bar food (pork rinds, chicken wings, burgers, and a key lime tart, just to name a few) and a delectable selection of brews on tap. The owner, along with his wife Valarie and son Mike, make all their menu items from scratch, from their pizza dough to the sauce for the pulled pork sandwich and more. It’s definitely worth a stop while you’re in town.

9. Tacos at Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar

Another place worth checking out is Tacocraft Taqueria and Tequila Bar, a semi-authentic boutique taqueria and tequila bar in downtown Fort Lauderdale. With tortillas hand-crafted by Mexican señoras and modern interpretations of street classics - their menu offers downright delectable options including tofu, oyster Po Boy, lobster tempura, duck confit, smoked brisket, pork belly, chorizo, kale & sweet potato, and more - Tacocraft is sure to be a hit. To satisfy your thirst, check out their vast selection of cocktails, margaritas, tequila, and more.
